Thanks for the info. It sounds like a good idea. Anything to take away some of the barriers of sending Thank You notes is a plus. I'll take a look at it.

Marshall,
I stumbled on your posting while researching on the web for a presentation I am doing for my business. I'll be speaking tomorrow to a group of realtors about the importance of sending thank-you notes. I am an independent representative for a company called SendOutCards. The mission of this company, through company founder, Kody Bateman, is to help people to act on their inner promptings to send heartfelt cards of appreciation. This company offers a web-based greeting card service where you create a beautiful, high-quality greeting card on your SendOutCards website (which you purchase a membership for). You choose your card (or create one using your own photos/images), type your message, choose the person (or persons) to receive it from your contact manager (also a feature of the system, which is great because you can upload or enter all of your contacts into the system so you're not searching for an address when you want to send a card)...then click "SEND" and the company prints, stuffs, addresses the envelope and afixes a real postage stamp, then mails the card for you. All for less than $1.50 including postage. The fact that you don't have to go to the store to buy cards and hunt for addresses and stamps makes it much more likely that you will develop this habit you recommend. Since starting with this system a little over 2 years ago, I've sent more than 1500 cards to people I care about or want to develop deeper relationships with. The fact that this company also allows me to share the system with others and earn a living doing so is fantastic!

If you'd be interested in taking a look at this, I'd be honored to be the one to introduce you. Just email me and I'll set you up with a sample account you can try out for free with no obligation.

Sincerely (I'm a Christian too!)

Too cool. I've started sending more of them, though not the old fashioned way as much as I'd like. Still, even friends I talk to all the time, sending a letting changes things... and like you said, deepens the friendship in a different way.

I sent a "thank you" type letter to a blog friend this week (the old fashion way). It felt really good. Like a deepening of friendship.

Yes, I think we can all step it up here no matter how "not terrible" we are at it.
