Why bondChristians are interesting

Note: This is the seventh post in the “How To Be Interesting” series. Read the previous installment here.

You’ve made it through all the monstrous posts in this series. This one is somewhat shorter. If you understand this post though, you understand the bondChristian’s motivation for being interesting.

BondChristians are interesting because they are interested

The essential element of being interesting is first being interested. BondChristians are called to be interested, so it follows that they would be interesting.

“Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.” – Philippians 2:4

BondChristians are interested because they love others

To be truly interested requires love. Love is the most difficult gift to give, but as Christians, we are required to love.

“Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another…” – Romans 12:10

BondChristians love others because they love God

BondChristians ought to love then, not because of a rule that says so, but because they have chosen to love God. Loving others is product of loving God.

“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” – John 4:7-8

BondChristians love God because God loved them first

Why be interesting? Because God first loved us. This is in fact the foundation for everything about us.

“We love Him because He first loved us.” – 1 John 4:19

If that’s the motivation, then the interest from others should all funnel toward our Master and His love for us.

How to do that?

That’s a topic for a future post or series. For now, consider some of these tips for showing your love for Jesus in light of Luke 6:27-36. By showing your love, you’re showing His.

Serving Suggestions

(1) Go be interesting.

(2) Need some verses to memorize? If you don’t already know these, the verses in this post are a good place to start.

(3) We’ll be revisiting this post in the future so make sure you understand why ‘interestingness’ is based on God’s love for us.
