The purpose of (bondChristian) life

…is to glorify God. [Period]

“Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.” -Isaiah 43:7

“. . .For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I may show My power in you, and that My name may be declared in all the earth.” -Romans 9:17

Of course everyone applies this differently. The specific, day to day way you’re meant to glorify God is different from the specific, day to day way I’m meant to glorify God. But yes, the general purpose, the underlying reason you and I are here, is to glorify God.

So there – age old question solved.

Why’s this matter? You tell me. You’re the one always asking what your purpose is, right? Yeah, okay – I ask too.

This matters because it’s way, way easier to serve God when you and I realize that it’s not just a commandment – it’s our purpose, why we were created in the first place.

Not that “easier” is everything. But hey, in this case, I think it’s exactly the kind of “easier” God wants for us.

“Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart.” -Psalm 37:4

But back to our purpose: it’s to glorify God [Update: click to find out what that even means]. That’s the purpose of bondChristian – nay (like that word?)  – human life. Now it’s up to you and I to allow our purpose to be fulfilled. You up for it?

Serving Suggestions:

(1) Tell someone, anyone (how ’bout the closest person to you right now?) what your purpose is.

(2) Do something that outwardly shows that you understand your purpose.
